Introduction[]
The Hōsha Hōsha no mi is a Paramecia type Devil Fruit that was eaten by Marine Cmdr. Alexandra Slotin; former princess of the kingdom of Geigaria.
Appearance[]
The Hōsha Hōsha no mi looks nearly identical to the Chiyu Chiyu no mi but with some subtle differences in the patterns on the fruit.
Usage[]
The Hōsha Hōsha no mi allows the user to emit ionizing radiation from their body. People exposed to ionizing radiation will suffer the effects of acute radiation syndrome (A.R.S.). A user can also see different types of radiation, like X-rays and infrared radiation. A user can also use the Hōsha Hōsha no mi to absorb radiation from their surrounding environment; this does not remove the damage caused by the radiation. The Hōsha Hōsha no mi's use can cause bizarre mutations within the environment, creating powerful mutant monsters.
Strengths[]
- Radiation is silent and deadly. By the time most people notice the user's ability, it is too late.
- Immune to the effects of A.R.S.
- The Hōsha Hōsha no mi can cure/prevent cancerous tumors in it's user. They can also use their ability to treat cancers in others, though it is not always guaranteed to work.
- The ability to visualize different types of radiation like X-rays, Infrared radiation. This gives users X-ray vision and infrared vision.
Weaknesses[]
- Standard Devil Fruit Weakness.
- Radiation is indiscriminate. The Hōsha Hōsha no mi is as much a danger to your allies, as it is to your enemies.
- There is protective equipment that can protect people from the radiation. If an enemy had protective equipment, they would have a fighting chance against the user.
- Users have less control over the radiation they emit while they are asleep, or unconscious.
- The dangerous nature of the Hōsha Hōsha no mi leaves users socially isolated; unable to interact with others without safety measures taken.
Attacks[]
- Neutron Wave: The user emits a high energy wave of Neutron radiation. This acts as an AoE.
- Gamma Pulsar: The user emits a high energy pulse of Gamma radiation in a 50ft cone in front of the user.
- Demon Core: The user concentrates: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Neutron radiation into a sphere 89 mm in diameter and launches it toward their enemy. This attack is so intense that it can penetrate a protective radiation suit.
- Nuclear Meltdown: This is the deadliest attack the Hōsha Hōsha no mi is capable of. It effectively turns the user into a nuclear bomb. The devastation from this attack is enormous, and the user is killed in the process. It is not an attack that should ever be used, even as a last resort.
Trivia[]
- The name of the attack 'Demon Core' is based on the spherical subcritical-mass of plutonium that was developed during WWII by the United States Nuclear weapon development effort, The Manhattan Project, as a fissile core for early atomic weapon.
- The spherical subcritical-mass of plutonium earned the nickname 'Demon Core' due to its involvement in two fatal accidents. August 21, 1945, the plutonium core produced a burst of Neutron radiation which killed Harry Daghlian & on May 21, 1946, Louis Slotin died after the core went supercritical.
